Applying for a School Place
If you’re thinking about moving to the area, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact our school office to find out about current availability and waiting lists for mid-year admissions.
All school place applications are made through the Hampshire County Council Admissions website.
The Hampshire Admissions Team manages:
-
Year R (Reception) and Year 3 admissions until 31st August each year.
-
Year R to Year 6 admissions for children joining part-way through the school year.
Once your in-year application is submitted, we will write to you with the outcome within 10 school days (and no later than 15 school days).
If we’re unable to offer your child a place, their name will be added to our waiting list. You’ll also receive information about your right to appeal, which is handled by the Hampshire Admissions Team. They can provide the appeal form and guidance notes if you wish to proceed.
All offers from the waiting list are made in line with our Admissions Policy, which you can read on our Policies page.
From September 2026, we will be able to admit four additional children in Year 3, as class sizes increase from 30 to 32.
It is also important to remember that although Federated, Oakwood and Greenfields are separate schools. Oakwood parents will, therefore, need to apply for a Year 3 place at Greenfields in line with the normal admissions policy and process.
We look forward to welcoming you to Oakwood and Greenfields soon!
