Assessment & Reporting
At Green Oaks our teachers continually assess your child’s learning to enable them to plan and teach according to their individual needs.
This might be through:
- day to day, ongoing, assessment of whether the content of a lesson has been understood or whether there are any misconceptions or gaps in learning
- assessment at the end of a sequence of learning to decide whether there is a secure understanding of the knowledge that has been taught
- end of term or end or year assessments to make sure learning has been retained in long term memory
Assessments allow our teachers to see the progress your child is making and provides them with information to assist them in planning how to help pupils make further progress. It also enables teachers to report information to you as a parent, as well as giving valuable feedback to pupils about their strengths and next steps in learning.
Our senior leaders and Governors also use assessment data to review the quality of education for our children, set targets for the future and to measure progress against school improvement priorities.
