Welcome to Year 5
Curriculum Learning Journey
Welcome to the Year 5 page, full of useful links and information to help you support your child this year.
Homework
We encourage all children to be reading a minimum of 3 times a week at home as part of their regular home learning, at least one of these should be with an adult who can help support with practicing fluency or checking comprehension. From January, your child will also be given written comprehension tasks that should be completed at home and brought back to school.
Children will be given weekly spellings through Spelling Shed which are linked to learning in class and your child's class teacher will feedback any common gaps and errors each half term.
In Maths, your child will access a MyMaths account and their class teacher will set homework each week linked to learning in class. Their teacher will monitor your child's participation in class and address any common gaps as part of their teaching. They will also access their own TTRS account and this can be used to help improve their speed to recall of multiplication facts.
