Safeguarding
Safeguarding children is defined in Working together to safeguard children as:
- protecting children from maltreatment
- preventing impairment of children’s health or development
- ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
- taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes
All adults in our community share a responsibility to make sure children are not at risk of harm. Occasionally a parent or other adult becomes concerned about something that they hear, see or know about another family or child. If you have a child protection or safeguarding concern about a child it is important that you contact Hampshire Children’s Services as a matter of urgency. All calls by members of the public are treated in confidence.
