Assessment & Reporting
At Green Oaks our teachers continually assess your child’s learning to enable them to plan and teach according to their individual needs.
This might be through:
- day to day, ongoing, assessment of whether the content of a lesson has been understood or whether there are any misconceptions or gaps in learning
- assessment at the end of a sequence of learning to decide whether there is a secure understanding of the knowledge that has been taught
- end of term or end or year assessments to make sure learning has been retained in long term memory
Assessments allow our teachers to see the progress your child is making and provides them with information to assist them in planning how to help pupils make further progress. It also enables teachers to report information to you as a parent, as well as giving valuable feedback to pupils about their strengths and next steps in learning.
Our senior leaders and Governors also use assessment data to review the quality of education for our children, set targets for the future and to measure progress against school improvement priorities.
School Performance Data
In Key Stage 2 standardised test results are used to provide data that can help schools compare their performance to other schools nationally and to identify strengths and areas for development.
This data can often be cohort specific, change year on year and not reflect the current context or leadership of the school.
The most relevant data for parents to consider is their own child’s progress at the school that they attend and to feel confident in the quality of education that their child is currently receiving. If you have any concerns regarding your child’s progress at the Green Oaks Federation please contact the relevant school and make an appointment to meet with your child’s class teacher.
End of Year Attainment Review 2024
Results presented here are for the 2023-2024 academic year.
National Curriculum tests report results as the % of children meeting the expected or higher standard, and 'scaled scores'. In order to meet the expected standard, children must achieve a scaled score of 100 or more in their SATs tests.
Congratulations to our Year 6 cohort for their achievement in the end of year SATs tests. The measure of their progress goes far beyond a set of tests but I know the teachers are proud of every single child in the year group for the results they achieved. Thank you to all of you at home too for your ongoing support and time spent working alongside your child.
